The School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University is one of the original advocates and training plan designers of MBA education in mainland China. The MBA program of Xi’an Jiaotong University is one of the first national pilot programs in China. Since the first enrollment in 1990, the MBA program has recruited more than 8,000 MBA students.

Based on the school-running characteristics of "strong foundation, strict requirements, and emphasis on practice", the accumulation of management disciplines and the teaching advantages of Xi’an Jiaotong University over the past century, the formulation of the training objectives of the project is based on the orientation of "Chinese foundation, global vision", and conforms to the domestic and international development trend of educational concepts. The program fully grasps the characteristics and context of national and regional economic development, meeting the management needs faced by modern enterprises.

The training goal of MBA is to cultivate outstanding management talents with innovative consciousness, global vision and social responsibility for industrial and commercial enterprises and economic management departments.

Based on the project mission and training objectives, The School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University fully considers the needs and expectations of the students and employers in the process of project implementation, and has carried out the training reform of MBA professional degree graduate students in a targeted manner. Through continuous exploration in aspects such as enrollment mode, curriculum system, teaching methods and teaching staff construction, a training system that supports training objectives has been formed. Through the training process, MBA graduates have a solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience, achieving the transaction from ordinary managers to excellent managers.

In recent years, with the purpose of serving the national and regional economy and meeting the needs of regional talent training, the program has closely connected with the industrial characteristics of different regions, and has made full use of the joint training bases and internship training bases in Qingdao, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou and Suzhou to carry out high-level development. The high-quality integration of production and education will improve the quality of high-level application-oriented talent training that meets the needs of the industry and enterprises.
