Life On The Zambezi River has had it’s ups and downs throughout the History of the
Batonga people who have lived in the Zambezi Valley for hundreds of years.
The mighty river is the 4th largest in the world with many myths and legends that
have kept their tribes’ memories and founding fathers close at heart through
their stories. Today they survive in much better conditions after a severe flood
had stuck them during a time when an important dam was being built;
hence and the project finally proved to be a necessity.
They held native rituals during that time before making final decisions
and agreeing to continue with the dam.
Life on the Zambezi River as it was then, is as it is now.
