Banished from the land where they grew to love,

a rip of time had passed through the winds and tore them apart.

Forever searching in destiny’s spiral their hearts swelled in sadness.

Yet, all the days and into the nights their pursuit to be in each other’s arms again

never faded.

One year’s eve as the Earth grew closer to view a strange glow began to appear.

She stretched to reach the spark of the Roman sol and

placed it into the herbs floating in dance amid the sacred tureen.

Feeling faint with wonder she began to fly about ‘tween

the trees and ruins which once was their precious home.

Slowly upon the tattered arbor, sounds of metal clanging filled her ears.

In a fluttered swoop she finally saw.

He has appeared……but sadly cinched within a cage.

All she could say as she flew near was

“Please do not seize my Angel, not again, please, oh please!”

Their hearts pounded for one another in an instant’s view.

A moment of joy and yet bleakness traversed before the sensitive idea came to mind.

Who has the key?
