“Wishing For My Cowboy To Come Home” by Bambi Chicque

As I was setting up my new ranch area with Trompe Loeil’s new

Raleigh Wedding Barn, I couldn’t help but want to capture the

breathtaking view of the rafters for you to see!

It reminded me of when I was a younger gal playing hide-and-seek

with my cousins at my Grand-Dad’s ranch…….

One day my cousin, Keith, asked if I wanted to climb up in the rafters

of Grand-Dad’s barn and sneak over to his cattle house to see what he does

in there.  I had been told by Grand-Dad that I was never allowed over there, so

as a curious youngster I said “yes”!  We climbed up into the musky and

dusty loft of the old barn, crawled on our bellies to an open window

(watching out for rattle snakes and scorpions) which

oversaw the cattle house.  Just as I peaked over and looked into the

single-lit room, Grand-Dad has just brought a cow through the shoot and shot it!

OMG!

Remember, my Grand-Dad was not only a farmer and rancher, he also

had a meat market that people drove for miles and miles to buy sides of

beef and special cuts from him.

I let out a loud scream and Grand-Dad instantly chewed Keith out for

dragging me up there.  The bottom line to the story is that I have such a heart

for animals – yes, even cows and had no clue how the meats ever ended

up in his marketplace for sale.

I stopped eating beef after that!

The reminder of my family’s many ranches (including the famous 6666 Ranch),

barns, silos, farm houses and country homes is mainly the reason

Trompe Loeil’s Raleigh Ranch

created a pitter-patter to my heart and I knew I would set up a nice

area for my friends and I to enjoy the simple and quainter parts of life

while in SL!  This structure is magnificent and I strongly encourage

you to get one of these, along with his Wedding Decor that he created

too!

I had just received Oddity’s new blogger review package with the

cowgirl style outfit – so this was perfect timing for this photo!
