Throughout all the years I have been in Second Life, I have enjoyed hunting and building for many, many, MANY hunts. You get to know the Designer’s styles, tastes and watch them progress as the years pass. The Hunt Gifts are always a special item related either to an event with a theme or just something they wish to create and express their gratitude with for you being a patron to their shop.
I, for one, have always worked hard to create something that would impress the Hunter enough that they would fall in love with my designs and follow me, too! I go a little bit further with my work so it’s not just a hum-drum fast item to plop out there. I get a lot of “Wow’s” and “Thank You” messages throughout the events. I spend hours in photoshop perfecting each layered texture so the item comes alive with realism and composition. Basically, I aim to please and impress!
Another thing I especially do is to place the AD photo inside each hunt gift so the Hunter can always quickly see what the item is. I am a true believer that taking that extra “second” to slide your AD into your design folders that either buying customers grab up or in your hunt gifts, too. I wish all Designers would do that (especially since I am also a Blogger and need a reference point when setting up for reviews)….thought I’d TOSS that ONE in!
The Hunt Coordinators spend a lot of time setting up the websites showing off the ADS (hunt items) and links to the stores; making it easier for you to decide where you want to go; not to mention the hours it takes to pull the full event together with hundreds of Designers involved. Some have challenges (and oh gosh me, I have been challenged) with each step that you have to complete before moving on to the next item; (ie: MadPea and Fantasy Faire’s Quest). Some Designers make the hunt easy and some will hide the gift super hard to find. The information about each event is usually spelled out well for you on these websites. Each shop that participates will have a welcome area showing off all the events they are in along with the hunts and will have an example of the hunt object you are looking for along with a “hint” as to where to find it.
Some time back, my dear friend and fellow Designer Marge Kinson, began the now famous journey with The Huntie Award along with ballot boxes you can click to vote for each Designer / Category. Upon clicking the box, the notice will take you to the link on the Hunt SL website where you can then place your vote(s). You will find the ballot boxes spread through out Second Life and in each Designer’s Shop as you are merrily hunting along.

BRAG TIME 2
I received my trophy from Marge along with her Congratulations conversation and flew off quickly to showcase it at my shop and ensured the current ballot box was up! Thank you again, Marge, for ALL you do, all your hard work and your love for the Designers you work so hard to keep up with.
While I am on the subject of Marge, she is the Designer and Owner of “The Artist Shed” and the brains behind her popular “I Heart The Cart” Events & Hunts. If you have never been to one of her cart events, you are missing out. She probably spends a full month recreating the sim for each event where you are in total awe of the layout and theme. Photographers come to take pix, hunt and shop!
BRAG TIME 3
Now I have to brag on another friend, Toxxic Rhiannyr, who is the master devil behind “Spookzilla” and “TR Events”. I am so very proud to know her and to be a Designer participating in her events. She was a huge winner and homerun hit in five categories! That’s a WOW! Congratulations, Toxxic!
BRAG TIME 4
Next I wish to congratulate one of my absolutely most favorite roleplay creators, Kadaj Yoshikawa, of Harshlands!! I have been a Blogger and close friend of his for many years. My mouth waters every time I see his new creations. He pulls off a couple of hunts each year located at his sim, where you can enjoy the ambiance, pull your hair out trying to find his gifts and clicking that “buy me” button many times over. His hunt gifts are very much worth the time (probably a full day) you spend there….and, yes, I’ve been one of his Hunters! Hugzz to ya, Kadaj, and Congratulations for winning “The Favorite Store Hunt” Award and being nominated for “Favorite Hunt Poster”!
BRAG TIME 5
Well of course I have to do this….Congratulations to all who were nominated and won! I know the hard work and time you spent in creating for the hundreds of hunts each year.
