Formal models of business processes play a key role in this field. A process model captures the tasks of a business process and the order in which they need to be performed, the data that is used and/or produced by these tasks, and the resources, human or otherwise, that are involved in these tasks. Research in BPM has focussed on a wide range of topics, empiricaland technical, including modelling concepts (e.g. the workflow patterns, www.workflowpatterns.com), process automation (e.g. YAWL, www.yawlfoundation.org), and, more recently, process mining (www.processmining.org). In this talk, research at Queensland University of Technology in the area of BPM will be showcased and some prominent open-source software artifacts will be demonstrated.【讲座人简介】:Arthur ter Hofstede is a Professor in the Information Systems School in the Science and Engineering Faculty, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, and is Head of the Business Process Management Discipline. He is also a Professor in the Information Systems Group of the School of Industrial Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. His research interests are in the areas of business process automation and process mining. He has been a visiting professor of Sapienza University of Rome (Rome, Italy) and a senior visiting scholar at Tsinghua University (Beijing, China). In September 2015, he was awarded the "BPM Test of Time Award" together with Professors Alistair Barros and Marlon Dumas for a paper on Service Interaction Patterns which was published in the BPM 2005 proceedings. According to Google Scholar, his h-index is 64 and his work attracted more than 21,000 citations.
